Palermo is the regional capital of Sicily. This is the biggest island in the Mediterranean, separated
from the Italian peninsula by the strait of Messina. The region offers important Roman remnants that
can be seen at Taormina, Syracuse, Tindari, Solunto, Eloro and Patti. In the surroundings of Palermo
tourists can also admire Taormina, the Etna and the majestic monuments in the Valle dei Templi of
Agrigento
Florence is the beautiful capital of Tuscany. Other important cities are Siena, Pisa, Arezzo, Pistoia,
Lucca, Livorno, Grosseto, Massa Carrara all of corresponding beauty as well. The region stretches
over the slope of the Apennines, in front of the Tyrrhenian Sea with mainly mountainous and hilly
landscape. In front of the sandy coastline there are small enchanting islands of the Tuscan
archipelago worth to be seen. Tuscany is unrivaled as a cradle of all-time art - from the
Etruscan civilization (Fiesole, Chiusi, Volterra, Populonia) to Roman monuments and ruins; from

The regional capital is the world-famous city of Venice. The region is unique because it combines
two different aspects of the Italian nature: the lagoon zone (Venice) and the majestic peaks of
the Dolomites of Cadore. It is also the cradle of numerous and important Roman traces such as the
Arena of Verona, St. Mark and the Cathedral of Torcello. But probably the most beautiful places
