Italy is one of the most beautiful places to be visited in Europe. Latium

The major city is Rome - the capital of Italy. Other important cities are Frosinone, Latina, Viterbo and Rieti. The region stretches from the western buttresses of the Apennines to the Tyrrhenian Sea with undulated hills, flatlands on the coastline and ridges and calcareous in the highlands. Latium is the cradle of Roman civilization and it is incredibly rich in outstanding relics of the different periods. Archeological masterpieces are the major attraction in the center of Rome.

Campania

Naples is the regional capital, and other important cities are Caserta, Benevento, Salerno and Avellino. The region faces the Tyrrhenian Sea and includes one of the finest coastlines in Italy. Visitors love to take unforgettable excursions to the enchanting islands of the Gulfs of Naples - Capri, Ischia and Procida.

Lombardy

The regional capital is Milan. Other important cities are: Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Varese, Sondrio, Pavia. The region occupies the main part of the Po Valley and includes a hilly district with the major Italian lakes, from the Easter slope of Lago Maggiore to the Lakes of Varese, Como and to the northern part of Lake Garda. Lombardy is the cradle of the Romanesque architecture and has beautiful examples in each major city, such as the Cathedral of Milan - the most striking monument of the Gothic period.

Sicily

Palermo is the regional capital of Sicily. This is the biggest island in the Mediterranean, separated from the Italian peninsula by the strait of Messina. The region offers important Roman remnants that can be seen at Taormina, Syracuse, Tindari, Solunto, Eloro and Patti. In the surroundings of Palermo tourists can also admire Taormina, the Etna and the majestic monuments in the Valle dei Templi of Agrigento

Tuscany

Florence is the beautiful capital of Tuscany. Other important cities are Siena, Pisa, Arezzo, Pistoia, Lucca, Livorno, Grosseto, Massa Carrara all of corresponding beauty as well. The region stretches over the slope of the Apennines, in front of the Tyrrhenian Sea with mainly mountainous and hilly landscape. In front of the sandy coastline there are small enchanting islands of the Tuscan archipelago worth to be seen. Tuscany is unrivaled as a cradle of all-time art - from the Etruscan civilization (Fiesole, Chiusi, Volterra, Populonia) to Roman monuments and ruins; from the Romanesque architecture to the impressive Gothic cathedrals, to the exceptional artistic explosion of the Renaissance.

Veneto

The regional capital is the world-famous city of Venice. The region is unique because it combines two different aspects of the Italian nature: the lagoon zone (Venice) and the majestic peaks of the Dolomites of Cadore. It is also the cradle of numerous and important Roman traces such as the Arena of Verona, St. Mark and the Cathedral of Torcello. But probably the most beautiful places are the enchanting island around - Murano, Burano and Torcello. Tourists can admire the enchanting and unique lagoon and the majestic reddish spires of the Dolomites.
